According to customs statistics, one out of every five toilets sold in the American market comes from us,One out of every three toilets sold in the Australian market comes from us.
Foundation and Global Beginnings
In 1999, Meng Linglai acquired Star Ceramics and established Tangshan Monopy Ceramics Industry, marking the beginning of private operation. During this period, the company built a gas-fired tunnel kiln, introduced a modern financial management system, and entered international markets through the Ceramic Expo. Continuous casting technology and Korean KS certification further improved production efficiency, raising the product qualification rate to over 90%.
Expansion and Innovation
Monopy expanded its manufacturing footprint through factory acquisitions and the construction of new production bases. Resin molds, employee training systems, and a dedicated testing and inspection center were introduced to strengthen manufacturing quality. Meanwhile, the company broadened its customer base across Europe, North America, and Australia and began developing water-saving sanitaryware.
Technology and Brand Development
The company achieved a major technological breakthrough with the development of a 3-liter ultra-low-water-consumption toilet in 2009. In 2011, the ELLAI brand was established in Shanghai, alongside the independent development of self-cleaning glaze technology. Lean management, automated glazing robots, and deeper integration of digital systems laid the foundation for modernized production.
Intelligent Manufacturing Transformation
Monopy successfully developed high-pressure casting technology and became a national leader in sanitaryware exports. CNAS certification further strengthened its quality assurance capabilities. With the construction of the fourth factory, the introduction of Italian high-pressure casting equipment, automated warehousing, and the SAP management system, the company entered a new era of intelligent and digital manufacturing.
Global Leadership and Green Transition
By 2019, annual production capacity had reached 8.5 million pieces, while the company maintained its leading position in exports and officially launched ELLAI to a broader market. From 2020 onward, Monopy accelerated its green transformation through waste-porcelain recycling, clay reuse, electric forklifts, photovoltaic power generation, and advanced wastewater purification systems.
Circular Manufacturing and Zero-Carbon Vision
Monopy continued to improve wastewater recycling, expand high-pressure molding technology, and upgrade kiln systems to reduce natural gas consumption. Green electricity projects and energy-saving technologies are being further developed to increase the proportion of renewable energy, advance carbon-neutral manufacturing, and support the company’s long-term goal of zero-carbon production.

Urban development has provided a richer material foundation, but it has also brought significant pressure and anxiety.
Lost in an overwhelming array of choices, we begin to question inwardly. By understanding our true needs and finding the right sense of proportion, we can learn to master things—rather than be mastered by them.
